- 1 - In 2009, most of the victims identified in our country were trafficked for forced labour exploitation. Women and children from Romania are trafficked to Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Greece, Germany, Cyprus, Austria and France for sexual exploitation purposes”, an US Department of State report said.
- 2 - Modern slavery is not an invention. The Department of Social Prevention and Integration was set up with the goal to prevent different forms of organized crime: traffic of human beings, begging, illicit drugs trafficking, illegal selling of human organs, domestic violence.
- 3 - Within the programs, the Foundation develops a series of social awareness and information events and projects, and addresses the effects of the phenomenon - materialized in the victims of modern slavery - psychological counselling with over x victims.
